A TikTok trend that has consistently reached high views is one where people get fast food from McDonald’s and take it to professional chefs to turn it into gourmet food. The same trend was followed by Danny Kim, who is a content creator from Maryland, USA. Buying a happy meal that had fries, nuggets, sour sauce, and two apple pies, the content creator took it to Chef Amy Brandwein and asked them to turn it into gourmet. The video from this collaboration resulted in a huge success, earning 1.3 million views on TikTok. Despite the success, viewers, on the other hand, aren’t so glad.

Once the video starts, we can see Amy blending flour, water, salt, milk, and butter and later putting an egg into the blender to create a mixture. She then put the mixture, fries, salt, and parmesan cheese into a food processor. Mixing nuggets with the apple pie filling, she creates a filling for the pasta she makes. She turns it into “Pommes dauphine,” which is usually made from mashed potatoes and choux pastry. Amy then rates it an 11/10, although looking at the comments, not everyone thinks so.
The main issue that viewers have is the size of the dish being too small for a single person, as we can see with a comment saying, “Bro, all that food turned into three pieces of pasta,” with someone else commenting,” Now it looks good and all, however, I’m a growing boy, and that is not enough even to snack on.” Others feel conflicted regarding the strange mixture of apple pie and chicken nuggets, with a user commenting, “She lost me when she mixed the apple pie with the chicken nuggets.” The result presents a pretty dish, but you can’t expect to leave satisfied with only three pieces of pasta. In the end, this dish was dished out with serious negative feedback.
