Cristiano Ronaldo Launches YouTube Channel “UR,” Quickly Breaks Records
A New Platform for Personal Insights
The channel, aptly named “UR,” debuted on Wednesday and is set to provide fans with an unprecedented glimpse into Ronaldo’s life. While soccer will naturally be a focal point, the 39-year-old, who currently captains both Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and the Portuguese national team, will also delve into his other passions. These include family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business. The channel will also feature Ronaldo engaging in conversations with various guests, offering a broader perspective on his life beyond the pitch.
Ronaldo’s Vision for “UR”
“I am very happy to make this project come to life,” Ronaldo shared in the channel’s announcement. “It has been in my mind for a long time but finally we have the opportunity to make it real. I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so. They will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects. I am also looking forward to sharing conversations with guests that will no doubt surprise people!”
A Glittering Career
Ronaldo’s career, which spans more than two decades, has been nothing short of extraordinary. Having played for some of the world’s most prestigious clubs, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, he has amassed an incredible 33 trophies, including five UEFA Champions League titles and five Ballon d’Or awards. He also holds the record for most appearances, goals, and assists in both the Champions League and the European Championship. Additionally, Ronaldo boasts the highest number of international goals and appearances, making him the top goalscorer of all time with over 890 official senior career goals for both club and country.
Breaking Records on YouTube
Despite his success across social media, Ronaldo is not yet the most followed person on YouTube—a title currently held by MrBeast, who has 311 million subscribers. However, Ronaldo’s meteoric rise on the platform suggests that he could soon challenge that position. In just 1 hour and 29 minutes after launching “UR,” the channel surpassed 1 million subscribers, becoming the fastest in history to hit that milestone and giving Ronaldo yet another record. Within two days of its launch, “UR” had accumulated over 30 million subscribers, with one video already surpassing 10 million views.
